Traffic Direction In The Occupation Encampment

Those who were responsible for managing traffic and internal order in the occupation encampment were oftentimes drawn from Citizen 1985

The team of those responsible for managing traffic and internal order in the occupation encampment (糾察隊) were oftentimes drawn from Citizen 1985. Among their tasks was making sure that traffic within the occupation site did not come to a halt, particularly with individuals who came to the occupation site to take pictures, distributing supplies of food and water which had been donated, and managing an emergency lane in the case of medical emergencies or other events.

Later on in the movement, members of the traffic direction group drew flak because of the perception that they were restricting freedom of assembly within the movement. Many of the critics of those who directed traffic during the movement were from the splinter groups of the Sunflower Movement, including the Untouchables’ Liberation District and other groups. This led to conflict at several points within the occupation.
