Activist subculture would in the course of its development come to include books and film popular among activists, as a shared taste among activists. Books and films concerning Taiwanese identity or contemporary social issues were especially popular and activists, such the documentary film The Lost Sea about environmental issues in Kinmen, A2-B-C, about the effects of nuclear radiation in Japan following the Fukushima Disaster, and I Have It Maid, about Filipino domestic workers in Taiwan. Activists would also frequent film festivals such as the Green Citizen Action Alliance’s (綠色公民行動聯盟) No Nukes Film Festival (核電影), or the Taiwan International Labor Film Festival (台灣國際勞工影展).
